Respect Always and Content Restrictions
Access to All Big Brother sites is a privilege, not a right: the first amendment does not apply to these pages. Be respectful to the moderators and other visitors. Personal insults, flaming and bashing are not welcome. Making attacks on a moderator's character, or favorite character, might make your posts disappear. Profanity is automatically replaced with @#$%&. Offensive language and hate speech will be deleted. Some content may not be appropriate for children. Parents, do your job.

No Politics or Religion
No discussions of political or religious topics please. This is not the place to discuss political candidates or religious beliefs.

Posting Videos
You may not post any BB-related video found at YouTube or other video sharing sites. Posting videos of the live Realplayer feeds violates their copyright and is not permitted.

Off-Topic Posts and Board Scrolling
Posts should reflect the forum topic. Scrolling the board by top-posting the same topic over and over is not allowed. Our high-traffic forums scroll in an hour or less, off-topic (OT) and scrolling posts are always deleted on busy pages. This is a Big Brother site. If you want to tell us about your dog or your cat, this is not the place. If you want to tell us how many people got blowed up in the struggle against blowing things up, this is not the place.

Editing Posts
You may edit your own posts. The "Edit My Post" link is at the lower right, inside your messages.

No Personal and Private information
Please do not post personal or private information, such as your real name and address. You may use the tag codes to put links to your web site and email address in a message or in your signature block. Posts containing private information about yourself or others will be deleted. We will not forward emails or assist in any exchanges of personal information, please don't ask.

Handle/Name Duplication
Please don't use a handle or name that is almost identical to one being used by another person.

RealPlayer Live Feed Playback Fixes
Changing these settings should fix choppy feed problems for most users.

• Select 'Tools', 'Preferences' from the menu and then click on 'Playback Settings'. Unclick the Live Pause option, or if you must have it, reduce the 'Live Pause' setting to 5 minutes and unclick 'Temporarily increase this duration' just under that.
• Select 'Tools', 'Preferences' from the menu and then click on 'Playback Settings'. At the bottom under 'More Options' increase the playback buffer from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
• Select 'Tools', 'Preferences' from the menu and then click on 'Network Transports'. Check the 'Manually configure' option and then open the 'RTSP Settings' and 'PNA Settings' windows. Uncheck everything except HTTP, leave that as the only transport protocol for RTSP and PNA.

How to do Screen Captures
If you have a Mac, use the Grab utility that came with your computer. If you use Windows we recommend using Gadwin PrintScreen for image captures, it's easy to use and free. If your images turn out black, you'll need to change one setting in the new RealPlayer preferences. Click on 'Tools', 'Preferences' then select the 'Hardware' category. Move the 'Video Card Compatibility' slider to the middle or left 'More reliable' setting. If you have an older RealOne player you'll need to uncheck 'Use Optimized Video Display' in the hardware options. Browser Problems
Be sure cookies are turned on, they are required for login security. If you're having problems reading the messages, try one of these solutions: For Mac users the best option is to use the Safari browser, it's free from Apple. If you have an older Mac, try Mozilla Firefox. Windows users of Netscape should update to Firefox, their new browser is free, blocks pop-ups and works great on Windows. I use it on a Windows XP system and also have it running on Win ME and Mac OSX. Windows users of old or proprietary versions of IE should go to the Microsoft site and update their browser.
